Applications of Biotelemetry
The ability to send physiological data long distances without necessarily interacting directly with the subject can be exceedingly useful for a broad range of usages.
Above we see a diagram of a fish with a sensor implant array and a drug delivery device (both from EndoSomatic Systems). To the right we see a human runner being monitored by a wireless biotelemetric sensor strapped to his back. |
Below we see researchers from the University of California, Davis Biotelemetry Lab surgically inserting a biotelemetric tracking device into a sevengill shark.
